B1 Spanish Story: El billete de tren
Intermediate: the subjunctive appears, plans and doubts enter the story.
At B1, Spanish starts expressing things that aren’t facts yet: hopes, doubts, and plans. That means the subjunctive (llueva, llegue) and the future tense.
El billete de tren
Cuando Daniela encontró el billete de tren dentro del libro usado, pensó que era un simple marcapáginas. Era un billete de Valencia a Madrid, fechado hace veinte años, con un nombre escrito a mano: Ricardo M.
“Espero que el dueño siga vivo”, bromeó su compañero de piso. Pero Daniela no se rio. En la última página del libro había una nota: “Si encuentras esto, es que el libro llegó más lejos que yo.”
Daniela decidió investigar. Publicó una foto del billete en internet y pidió que la gente la compartiera. No creía que nadie respondiera. Sin embargo, tres días después recibió un mensaje de una mujer de Valencia.
“Ricardo era mi padre”, escribió. “Vendimos sus libros cuando murió. No sabía que había dejado notas dentro.”
La semana que viene, Daniela viajará a Valencia para devolverle el libro a la familia. Quizás el billete nunca se use, pero ya ha hecho su viaje.

What makes this B1
